Brant Ulrich Cooper Memorial Scholarship
Sponsored by the Juneau High School Band Boosters

The Juneau High School Band Boosters is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to support and promote the band program at JDHS and TMHS. This scholarship is in memory of a former JDHS band student who planned to pursue a degree in music education.

Scholarship description:
The scholarship is for a one-time award of $500.

Eligibility requirements:

  1. Senior student at JDHS or TMHS and enrolled in at least one band class.
  2. Preference to student planning to major in music education. Second preference will be for a student planning to major in another field of music.
  3. Proof of acceptance at an accredited college or university indicating planned field of study.

Application procedure:
The information requested below should be submitted with a cover sheet giving the student's contact information and mailed to:

  1. Resume listing personal accomplishments, activities, academic classes, involvement in music both in school and outside of school, employment history, and current GPA.
  2. One page essay explaining why they want and/or need this scholarship, how music has impacted their life and their plans to pursue music as a career.
  3. Three letters of recommendation.
  4. Contact information (mailing address and phone number) for the financial aid office of the college or university they will be attending.

Deadline for application:
All items requested must be received by April 30.

Award procedure:
The scholarship will be announced at the spring awards ceremony at the high school. The funds will be sent directly to the school the student is attending after they are officially enrolled.
