Fundraising activities supplement school district funding for the JDHS and TMHS
band programs. Nothing that is done through these efforts replaces what the
district allocates to the program.
There are two distinct categories of fundraisers-those done by the students
through school and those done by the Band Boosters. Click on the links below to
find out about current fundraising activities both at school and for the Band
Boosters.
The fundraisers done by the students through the school are selected by the
Band Director(s) and approved by the Activities Director at the high school.
The monies raised are deposited in the Band Activities Account at the school.
Money in the account may be used by the Band Director for purchase of music,
equipment and/or travel expenses for band groups. The Band Boosters assist the
Band Director and students with these fundraisers.

Current Student Fundraising Activities
The JHSBB Fundraising Committee and JHSBB Board select the fundraisers to be
done by the Band Boosters. Students are not directly involved with these
activities. The monies raised are allocated to several categories. They are:
Administrative Expenses
Cover costs of fund raising, Post Office Box rental, fees, etc.
Band Travel
Assist with travel expenses for special band trips.
Music/Instruments/Equipment for Band Program
Assist in purchasing items not covered in school district budget.
Music Scholarship
Provide a scholarship for a graduating senior JDHS band student planning to
major in music in college. Provide scholarships to band students attending the
Sitka Fine Arts Camp.
Rewards
Provide a way to acknowledge outstanding band students.

Current JHSBB Fundraising Activities
Monetary donations to the Juneau High School Band Boosters are tax deductible
as we are a non-profit corporation with 501(C)(3) status with the IRS. You may
also request your donation be applied to a specific category as listed above.
